However, if you are located in Leeds, West Yorkshire or are able to easily travel to Leeds, we would welcome you dropping off your failed drive at 17th Floor, The Pinnacle, Albion Street after receiving a quote from us (Monday to Friday between 9am and 5:30pm) without needing to make an appointment.
First get a quote from us, either via telephone or through our contact form. Next take the time to cover the drive in static-preventing materials if you have them (an example would be the packaging that a new hard drive comes in) and then pack it securely in another container using enough padding (bubble wrap, foam or even just crumpled up paper) on each side of the package to prevent movement. Make sure the drive doesn’t move at all. Lastly send it with insurance/tracking, for example Royal Mail Special Delivery or a courier, and include a small note inside with your full name, postal address, and your phone number & email. This way when it arrives here we will be able to schedule it immediately. We also provide a downloadable shipping template to make things easier for you.
No. The cost will depend solely on the type of equipment that failed and how it failed, and is never based upon location. We quote to recover a hard drive on the same basis (free diagnostics, fixed price) regardless of whether you are posting from Scarborough, York, the Dales or walking into our office on Albion Street. In most cases, you do not have to pay unless we recover your data. The only time distance has an effect is for an additional day’s postage at each end.
Allow an extra day or two of journey time (at either end), but other than that, our diagnostic and quotation timelines will remain the same regardless of where in Yorkshire you are.
